Why does my policy Exclude the USA and Canada?

Modified on Tue, 10 Sep at 11:09 AM

This is a standard exclusion across most Liability Insurance policies.

North American activities present a vastly different exposure than activities in Australia and the majority of the rest of the world.

Each US state presents a different exposure so in effect you have 50 different legal environments and we have very little real knowledge of which US state is litigious and which states are not.

In some cases depending on several factors such as your product range, your turnover, your quality control measures, understanding of risk etc. we can seek approval from the insurer to have your policy extended to include USA and Canada exports. However, this is individually assessed and the additional premium starts from a minimum of $1,200+

If coverage is required in the USA and Canada, please reach out to the team.
