What is Professional Indemnity?

Modified on Mon, 9 Sep at 2:28 PM

Professional Indemnity insurance provides cover for claims made against you in relation to any negligent act, error or omission, or breach of professional duty in the conduct of your business.

Basically speaking, professional indemnity is ‘fee for service’. If you promote yourself as an expert in a specific field and a client chooses to contract your services based on that information, they have a right to believe that you can do exactly what you say. In the event that during or after the contract period, it is evident that you cannot or did not fulfill the contract for lack of expertise, the client has a right to seek recompense.

PLEASE NOTE THIS DOES NOT REPRESENT 'FINANCIAL ADVICE' AS EACH PERSON'S INDIVIDUAL REQUIREMENTS WILL BE UNIQUE TO THEIR SPECIFIC NEEDS
